BURKINA FASO
Placed at the bosom of west Africa, Burkina Faso is the country has the most diversified ethnies with about sixty. Near 12 million inhabitants, Burkina is reckoned among the highest density country in Africa with 274200 km2.

The Mossi: they represent 48% of the population of whom 25% Moslems, 10% Christians and 100% animists and occupy all the central plain of the country from Tenkodogo to Ouahigouya passing by Ouagadougou. They are farmers and live in round huts united by walls.

The Peulh: They divide their abode with the Bella and the Touaregh in the north of the county.

The Gourmatché: The represent scarcely 5% of the population and live in the east of the country. Pure animists, they use to sand as a way to study the divination.
A the south of the Mossi plain even to the frontier of Ghana live the Gourounsi and Cassena. They are farmers and their women see to the beauty of their architecture; thus, we remark some many-coloured houses above all to the Casena. They divide their region with the Bissa, known as the greatest producers and consumers of ground-nuts of the country.

The Lobi, Gan and Dagara: Pure animist even today, they represent 7% of the population and live in the south, near the frontier of Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire. Their women are gifted in the improving of the gold and are generally good ceramists.

Gan: The Gans (autochthonous of Ghana) have come from Ghana when the Ashanti empire reaches its apogee. They were dispersed in the region expand sub-ethnies such as Lobi, Dagara, Djan, Birifor. We can say that it’s the purest ethny of the country because, it haven’t had some mix with the customs of the other ethnies. They remain during a long time suspected and became the frontally region of tree powers; the Mossi kingdom, the Mandingue empire and the Ashanti empire.

The Bobo Fins, the Bouaba, Samo and Dioula: They live in the west of the country (Bobo Dioulasso, Houndé, Dédougou…) animist with a little mix of Moslems and Christians, they are farmers because it’s the most humid region of the country.

The Gouins, Trouna, Sénoufo: Live in the region of Banfora towards the frontier of Mali and cote d’Ivoire.
